About Us
Mount Olympus Irish Wolfhounds is a mother-daughter breeding team with over 25 years experience raising and showing Irish Wolfhounds.
Who We Are
Laurel Consalvo is the foundation behind Mount Olympus Irish Wolfhounds and the heart that started it all. Laurel's professional career is versatile with experience across multiple trades, including auto mechanics, real estate, and carpentry. A lifelong dog lover, she always had a rescue by her side, though owning an Irish Wolfhound had always been her dream.
After building a house from the ground up and raising her three children, Laurel finally welcomed her first Irish Wolfhound, Zeus! While breeding was never part of the original plan, her growing love for the breed — combined with involvement in 4-H alongside her daughter, Samantha — naturally led her into raising and showing Irish Wolfhounds. Today, Laurel is deeply committed to the breed and its preservation. Life without these remarkable hounds is simply unimaginable.

Samantha Sligar (formerly Consalvo) was just 12 years old when her first Irish Wolfhound, Zeus, joined the family. Shortly after, a second Wolfhound puppy, Athena, followed, sparking a lifelong passion for the breed. Samantha spent four years active in her local 4-H dog club and began competing in AKC conformation shows at a young age.
Samantha went on to pursue a professional career as a licensed veterinary technician, gaining over 15 years of experience across a wide range of veterinary fields, including private practice, shelter medicine, and veterinary dentistry. Her background provides a strong foundation in canine health, structure, and overall well-being.
Now a military spouse and mother of three, Samantha continues to work closely with her mother, Laurel, to raise their exceptional line of Irish Wolfhounds. Even while relocating to various Army bases throughout the Midwest, their commitment to responsible breeding and breed preservation remains unwavering. While devoted to purebred dogs, Samantha also believes strongly in rescue and always has a few beloved rescue mutts as part of the pack.
